Membrane switch with only the key outline embossed. The key surface stays flat while its border can be felt by touch.

Construction and how it works
With rim embossing, it is the frame around the key that is raised rather than the key itself. The key face stays flat while the finger easily feels its boundary.
This reduces the risk of pressing the wrong key on dense, multi-key panels. Display windows, indicators and logo areas can also be highlighted with a rim.
